Our local Labour geniuses were given the option of refitting this listed Victorian building for £1.4m reconfiguring the interior for £4m or bulldozing it and replacing with a smaller ugly new-build with less facilities for £8m - guess what option they chose?

If ever there was a living metaphor for how Labour cost more and make life worse for people this is it.
