Stop the Dog Tax

Gordon Brown wants to force all dog owners to insure their dog against it attacking someone, even if that dog is well-trained and poses no risk to the public.

Labour’s dog tax will:

• Penalise millions of responsible, law-abiding dog lovers
• Be ignored by the minority who use dangerous dogs as weapons
• Increase the cost of dog ownership
• Cause more dogs to be abandoned and burden dog rescue centres                                  

Nick Herbert MP, Shadow Environment Secretary said: “... Labour’s proposals risk penalising millions of law-abiding dog owners with an unfair dog tax. We should be targeting irresponsible dog owners, not responsible dog lovers.”
